Album Notes

The sound of Delphi’s music is the sound of thoughts that come both from deep within her heart and from somewhere far outside her scope of consciousness. Influenced by songwriters such as Leonard Cohen, Saul Williams, Tori Amos, Patti Smith, and Bob Dylan, Delphi’s lyrics are transcendentally moving and at the same time convey a restless evolution of the condition of the human spirit.
In her debut album, “The Remembering”, that sheproduced and recorded herself under the name Redtail Records, she connects strong themes of personal growth with the overall evolution of society. Each song has a reality all its own and plays with structure, meaning, and music simultaneously. Her ever-growing spirituality is reflected in every track, whether it pertains to social issues or to personal relationships. The title of the album comes from a line in the second song on the album, “Those Cloudy Days”, in which she says, “Only the remembering survive”. This song is about personal survival in the face of tumultuous relationships, and an initiation into adulthood and womanhood through these interactions. She says of the album, “I believe that you can’t really learn anything unless you remember it. ah real nice cd-r .. with a booklet with lyrics and all . good stuff .. the music .. i didnt really know what to expect when i bought this cd . but this is reallly great stuff and already listened to it 2 times ... sometimes she soundslike patti smith but sometimes she sounds like delphi and no one else . and ah she can play her piano real well ! she has an EP out i ll ve to get that sooon
