Album Notes

Music and Personality that Bear the Undeniable Stamp of the South...

DeltaCappella is a vocal band rooted in the heart and soul of the Memphis and the Mississippi Delta.

Oblivious to race, ethnic, or age differences, the twelve members of DeltaCappella sing together for the pure pleasure of singing - and the music they make is a unique blend of harmony that is as richly textured and varied as the Delta itself.

Audiences love the group.

They love the purity of their voices. They love the fact that they are seeing an improbable collection of people on stage who are the real deal.

But the reason for all of the standing ovations is that people love hearing great songs presented the DeltaCappella way - delivered sans instruments with shimmering harmonies, heart-thumping vocal percussion, and full throttle dynamics.

Since each of the twelve guys in DeltaCappella possesses a star-quality solo voice, the group easily crosses over an astonishing array of genres that includes the cool jazz swing of Cole Porter's "Too Darn Hot," the relaxing R&B groove of "Easy (like Sunday morning)," the ephemeral and plaintive "Lonesome Road," and the raucous foot-stomping blues-infused rock of Marc Broussard's soul-wrenching "Home."

In addition to their own headline concerts in Memphis, Las Vegas, and many places in between, DeltaCappella has opened for ten-time Grammy winners Take 6, probably the best known a cappella group in the world, and the up-and-coming Warner EMI recording artists Naturally 7, who have recently been on tour with Michael Buble.

Deke Sharon, founder of the Contemporary a Cappella League, and a member of the highly-regarded a cappella rock band The House Jacks, has called DeltaCappella "...one of America's most exciting new singing groups. They are poised to lead a revolution in the way people enjoy and participate in singing."
