Album Notes

Wherever she performs she brings down the house! The most often heard expression is "how does such a big voice come out of such a tiny person?". Indeed her 5'3" stature hides a voice that rivals the best in professional entertainment anywhere. While her repertoire is strong in classic jazz she also performs material from opera to pop and show tunes to dance.

Denise studied under voice coaches Randy Buescher and Barbara Githens and has performed with area big bands and orchestras. For several years she had her own highly acclaimed nightclub show and has been a frequent special guest with many other well known entertainers including Victor Pacini, Sam Magdall, Vic Flanagan, Tony Ocean, Jerry Hendrix of the Drifters, and Chicago's legendary Milt Trenier.

Denise is now doing concerts and dinner shows in Midwest performing arts theatres and dinner clubs and preparing for the release of her first major album in the Spring of 2009. This project is being produced by renowned arranger, conductor and musician Carey Deadman of "Wicked" and "Jersey Boys" fame, and features the incredible pianist Jeremy Kahn assisting with all of the re-harmonization work. Backing Denise is most of the orchestra from from the hit show "Wicked" along with its star conductor Colin Welford who is also the assistant music director for Broadway's "The Lion King". Recorded at the multi-million dollar Chicago Recording Company and engineered by Chris Steinmetz, one of the industry's best, this will be an album for all who love great orchestral/big band standards.

Lalo Schifrin's Review
author: Adrian Brigham
Dear Ms. Brigham: Thank you so much for selecting the Cincinnati Kid for your recording. I must congratulate you for your rendition and also, please convey to the arranger and the musicians my applause. The record is really cooking and your singing is outstanding! You mentioned that Andre Kostelanetz's instrumental version which I haven't heard. On the other hand, I had the pleasure to compose, arrange, record, and conduct the original for Ray Charles in the end credits of the film. Once again, Bravo! Best regards, Lalo Schifrin
