Album Notes

A decade ago, I ventured forth to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music and movies. I got lucky, got a job producing a big budget film with an acclaimed director. I was on the verge of Hollywood success and yet it wasn’t enough. I was living in the fast lane, dancing with the devil, and going down fast.
My health began to suffer, and as a result, my hands became severely infected. In my final hours of desperation, my tired body and soul found itself at the footsteps of a church. On my knees, I cried for those that were lost such as I, and prayed to God to forgive me. For several days I could sense evil spirits and demons around me and yet I felt protected. The Holy Spirit was doing it’s work.


Exhausted and hungry, I lined up for food at a homeless shelter where a volunteer nurse took notice of my “boxing glove” sized hands. She quickly treated me while saying a prayer. I can still see the small sterling silver crucifix around her neck. We felt the presence of the holy spirit and we wept. I’ll never forget that kind woman God sent to care for me.


After my surgery and rehabilitation, my loving mother, brought me a guitar! That guitar changed my life. I began to write. Through the grace of God and all his mercy he had given me a second chance. Today, I let the holy
spirit guide me in my life, and guide my songs. In honor of the Lord, I wrote “Blessed Is Your Name”.


I wish to share with others, that hope is just a prayer away. Prayers are answered when you truly give yourself to the Shepherd in all his grace and mercy.

“Blessed is your Name” is an inspiring acoustic pop/rock, contemporary Christian CD by Dennis James Lee. Dennis’ soothing voice gently projects his love and faith with feeling. The musicianship, especially the acoustic guitar work is very professional throughout this CD. The production effectively allows the instruments and Dennis’ soft vocals to nicely cut through in the clear recording. The tracks have a soft and gentle quality that includes nicely layered instrumentation. “My God Almighty” effectively builds from gentle acoustic guitar and vocals to a memorable harmony-filled chorus. There is a nice piano and keyboard intro to “Sing to Our King” and a sweet duet that blends superbly. “Lord Hear Our Prayers” has a beautiful 3-part harmonized chorus with very interesting chord progressions. This CD is a special tribute to the Christian faith and will be enjoyed by lovers of contemporary Christian music.
