Dennis obtained his 15 minutes of fame in 1988 by winning a National songwriting contest for his song, Bird of Prey. With his CD "Still Waters", which was released in 1999, Dennis has shown his eclectic side with 10 original songs ranging from Acoustic Blues to Contemporary Folk. His Song " Life's Highway" was also included on the Northern Michigan Songwriters compilation CD "Risin' Shine".
In the Summer of 2002 Dennis collaborated with Playwright Dave Kann to write and record acoustic instrumental music for the play "The Cherry Buggy Whip".
His 2nd CD "CherryTown" released in the spring of 2003, contains 13 well crafted songs. From the haunting "Dakota Dream" to the thought provoking "CherryTown".
"Palmer offers insightful and wry comments on life...." NORTHERN EXPRESS
"Dennis is a thoughtful songwriter. On "More" he reflects on the fact that he has got just about everything he needs to be happy in life, but is still asking for more. It's a rumination on the materialist culture which dovetails nicely with his reflections on the spiritualism of life lived down-to-earth."
NORTHERN EXPRESS
On his latest CD Dennis has arranged a combination of Instrumental and Lyrical Songs to paint an Acoustic Landscape which is "Upland".

Eclectic blend of Acoustic Tunes, Very Nice!

Dennis has brought back the art of concept albums. After my copy of Upland arrived I let it play from the first track to the last, and it was truely a musical journey. He has interlaced the lyrical songs with a great mix of little instrumentals that kind of clean your aural pallet for the next song. Justine should be on the radio. Love this CD.
