For the past three years, Dennis Tufano, former lead singer of the great 60’s band The Buckinghams, has paid musical tribute to the late, great Bobby Darin as part of his act. Fans and critics have all received his efforts with praise.

‘It was a pleasure for me to see and enjoy the talented Dennis Tufano on stage. I wish him well in the future and continued success with his career choices. In his mature years he has evolved into a singer who is successful in all genres and styles. Should he ever come to the Boston area, I will definitely be there in the audience. ‘Last May I was able to see Dennis Tufano for the first time in Las Vegas where he appeared in a fundraising concert for the Children’s Heart Foundation of Nevada. The concert was put together by musicians who had worked with Darin to raise money for this charity in his name. There were several other singers who appeared that evening and helped to make a great show, but I must say, Tufano was the standout to the Bobby Darin fans in attendance. His mastery of the songs was complete, his timing impeccable, his energy without limits. I remember saying to my companion at the show, “He’s got the moves!” We could hardly believe it. We felt very lucky to have this entertainer who was equal to doing justice to the work of Bobby Darin. Understand, we are not in the market for Bobby Darin imitators in the mold of Sinatra or Elvis clones. Bobby Darin had a style of singing uniquely his own, and no one can duplicate it. But when a seasoned performer like Dennis Tufano takes this music into his heart and makes it his own, there are going to be happy Bobby Darin fans in the house, indeed.
Tufano did an excellent job of encapsulating Bobby Darin’s diverse career in pop music. He sang his heart out, strutted the stage and ruled that audience.
