ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
I am originally from Long Island, NY, and I am very proud of my heritage. In 1996, I moved to middle Tennessee, and since then, Tennessee has truly become my home. When I was a boy, my sister taught me to play the guitar and I also took piano lessons. I was a huge fan of artists like Keith Green, Phil Keaggy, the Second Chapter of Acts, Randy Stonehill, and other early pioneers of Christian music. I began writing songs and dreamed of one day recording my own Christian album. With the recent improvements in home recording technology, I prayerfully decided to produce my own recording project. The name of the project is "Learning to Lose My Life". it's all about the challenges, joys, and discoveries encountered by Christ-followers in the process of fully laying down their lives for His glory. It is my prayer that the Lord will use this project to encourage people and draw them closer to Himself.

Learning To Lose My Life/Dennis Van Dyke
"On his debut album Learning to Lose My Life, Dennis Van Dyke clearly establishes himself as a talented Christian songwriter to be reckoned with. Not only do his insightful lyrics hold water, but he has not pigeonholed himself into one specific formula...."
"Learning to Lose My Life is a wonderful collection of original songs that could serve as a demo to record labels looking for works for its artists...."
"His passion ... is eminent throughout the entire album and hopefully his inner light will continue to shine bright in all his musical endeavors."

Learning to lose my life

The entire CD
I know when you sing with your heart and soul and have a voice from heaven. You make the song come to life. Dennis Van Dyke sings with compassion and from the heart.. I absolutely love hearing him sing.
