Fuse pure-sultry vocals, inspiring, intriguing lyrics, a fresh, eclectic, urban rhythm and soul sound, and add the captivating presence of a down-home southern chick, and you have The Deonna Martin Experience. Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Tiffany “Deonna” Martin’s artistry is one she endearingly calls Vertical Soul. Vertical soul is not only who she is and how she lives, but what she creates! It’s music one can live “Up” to, and is laced with lyrics that cleverly and positively relate to the matters of the heart, mind and soul!
Deonna’s love of singing and writing began at the age of six, and has continued to blossom, steadily carving her a noteworthy place in the music industry landscape. In 2001, this Singer/Songwriter created an Atlanta craze with her inspirational versions of popular Jill Scott Tunes "A Long Walk" (derivative called "A Long Walk Into The Light") and "He Loves Me" (derivative called "I'm Nothing Without Your Love); both of which were granted derivative work rights by Universal Music Group. 2003 marked an even more significant milestone as Deonna's co-written work, "Come Fill My Heart", landed on Multi-Award winning artist, Cece Winan's "Throne Room" album. Deonna Martin continues to develop her writing craft working with writers, producers and artists in Pop, R&B, Soul and Contemporary Gospel genres, such as, INOJ (former Columbia Records Artist and credited writer for Janet Jackson, among others), Trevon Potts (writer and producer for Arista Recording artist, Monica, Integrity Recording Artist duo, Charles and Taylor, and various others), Jamie Portee (produced with and for Dallas Austin, Michael Jackson and Out of Eden, among others), Multi-award winner, Babbie Mason (writer and Contemporary Gospel artist), and renowned vocal coach, writer and producer, Jan Smith, just to name a few.
In addition to writing with and for others, she has shared the stage with many well-known artists. She has opened up for the popular, award winning sister duo, MaryMary (Six Flags over Georgia), performed at the 2005 Trumpet Awards along with Atlanta-based recording artist, Destiny Praise and most recently performed with artists such as Keite Young, Kameron Corvet, Virtue and Shae Norman.
Having landed songs on major recording artists projects, performed and worked with super-talented and award winning indie and major label producers, writers and artists, she is a pioneer among a new breed of Christians who create a music experience that appeals to the universal audience without compromise. This very music experience is captured on her debut album, "Beauty Mark". Deonna teams with award-winning and credited producers/writers/musicians, like Jamie Portee, Chuck Harmony, Natural a.k.a "NatStar", INOJ, Brandon Thomas and others who add their flavor to her original recipe for Deonna Martin's "good music" b.ka.
