Produced by Patty Parker of Award winning COMSTOCK RECORDS based in Arizona , recorded at Chelsea Studios in Brentwood Tennessee and arranged by Tony Migliore - musical director to Don McLean (American Pie) , it contains 5 original Country tracks - one of which (track 5) reached NO.28 in the European Country Singles chart and 7 classic contemporary hits all picked by Derek and given that unique Nashville sound to show off his outstanding voice .

A great lover of Musical Theatre , he fulfilled a major ambition by featuring in a prestigous show at the world famous Royal Albert Hall in London with the legendary Howard Keel . He was especially asked to audition for both the touring and London West End Production of "Les Miserables" as well as being invited to a masterclass - working with the resident West End director of the smash hit show .

Derek has also undertaken many major and highly acclaimed stage roles - among them , Fagin (Oliver) , Capt Von Trapp (Sound Of Music) and Pontius Pilate (Jesus Christ Superstar) . He has also made several appearences in many top British Television shows and done voice over work .

Derek also featured in a major German movie called "Salt In My Skin" with actress Greta Scacchi giving you an idea of Derek's diverse and extroardinary talents .

An extremely proud Scot , he lives with his wife Anna , son Matthew and faithful collie dog Rab 40 miles north of Aberdeen - Europe's oil capital - in the fishing town of Fraserburgh , N.E Scotland (God's own country)!!

Among his musical influences are Sinatra , Streisand , Tom Jones , Andy Williams and Marty Robbins and his ambition is to pursue a career in showbusiness .
