Patti DeRosa's new CD, Secrets and Stories, released in Sept. 2007, is bursting with the flavors of jazz, R&B, rock, and funk, all grounded in a folk sensibility. Her smooth vocals and crisp guitar playing are supported by a stellar cast of musicians including Vance Gilbert, John Curtis, Tom Eaton, Lorne Entress, Tara Greenblatt, Paul Kochanski, Kristen Miller, Billy Novick, and Pablo Picker.
And then there is the songwriting – lyrics and melodies overflowing with passion, insight, and attitude. Though this CD features a full band, Patti’s percussive guitar style carries on the groove in her live performances.
Her 1st CD, Paradise, was released in Jan. 2005 and was nominated for “Best Local CD” by Motif Magazine, and is played on radio stations across the country. Patti has opened for artists such as Vance Gilbert, Vicki Genfan, Emma’s Revolution, Terence Martin, Lisa Moscatiello, Kevin So, and will open for Antje Duvekot in March 2008. She has performed at the 2007 Boston Folk Festival, 2006 Folk Alliance Martin Guitar Showcase, and the 2006 Snapple Newport Sunset Music Festival. Patti DeRosa is a powerful presence, equally fun, funky, and sizzling.
"A honey-warm voice, clear and adventurous guitar work, and incisive lyrics are all hallmarks of Patti’s work, and they are still only the tip of her talent iceberg. See this musician soon wherever you can and tell a friend, like I am doing now. It'll be the best ‘I told you so’ that you’ve ever told”.

author: Angela MascialeSecrets and Stories is an uplifting CD, one can groove to Patti's music, at the same time, there is an outstanding subliminal message concerning social justice, and social consciousness that eases into the listener. Secrets and Stories is a feast of sensuality, emotional acknowledgement, and polital activism----rolled up into funky, folk-rock original sound.
Secrets and Stories
author: Jimmy PetersI love this CD! Patti really shines bright through her songs. My favorite is Complicated Woman. I was fortunate enough to see her perform in live in a very intimate setting and she was awesome! She really set a mood and put out the vibe. That was just her with an acoustic guitar live. When I heard the song on the CD fully instrumented I was like WOW! Do yourself a favor and add this CD to your collection and enjoy Patti's music!
Secrets & Stories
author: George LeBlancNice music Patti! It's so good to hear songs about real feelings and human emotions and searching for some meaning and values in a chaotic world. I love your stuff! Keep pickin' - and Happy Motoring!
Wow!! This is Great!!!
author: Craig SonnenfeldOk, Patti and I have grown to be friends over the past couple of years since we met playing at various venues in the greater Boston area. However, I'm trying to be as objective as possible here and I have to say that this is an extremely impressive top-notch cd. My favorites are the ballads (but my favorite songs are ballads, so that shouldn't be surprising). Patti really reached down deep to write the haunting song 'Bright Lights on a Dark Road', a touching portrait of a woman with mental illness who somehow remembers the image of the person she used to be. This one will stay with you for a long time. The love song 'I Remember Your Face' and the message song 'Be That As It May' are also beautiful. A wonderful work all the way 'round.
Secrets & Stories
author: Rosemary BrosnanThis is an amazing album! I bought it a couple of weeks ago, and I just can't stop listening to it. Patt DeRosa's music can't be pigeonholed into one category--she blends many genres and makes her own gorgeous music. It's hard to pick a favorite song, as they are all fabulous--you'll want to listen to her meaningful lyrics again and again. She's a superb songwriter, guitarist, and singer, and this album has a rich, full sound. I recommend it very highly!
Secrets & Stories
author: Mary de LourdesI love it. Patti’s “Secrets and Stories” is full of wonderful, bittersweet stories. She takes us along on an emotional journey of growth, love, passion, her search for truth & understanding and fantastic music. I can relate to “complicated woman”...”italian heart” is special and “secrets in the family”- sad. I hope Patti continues telling her stories...and touching hearts. Great job! .
Secrets and Stories
author: James D. JonesWhat a pleasant surprise from someone I've known for many years. The musical style and lyrics on this CD reminds me of one of my favorite artist from the past, Joan Baez. Patti's songs contain rich story lines that are delivered with a sweet voice accompanied by gentle guitar melodies. A songtress like Patti seems to comes along only one every generation.
Secrets and Stories
author: Mike Delaney"Secrets and Stories" is a credit to the rapidly rising trajectory of Patti's music career. It captures the wide range of styles and emotions of her talented songwriting from the personal introspection of "Italian Heart" to the raucous energy of "Restless". This collections of songs captures the depths of Patti's convictions, emotions, and talent.
