Album Notes

My name is Derrick Harris and I’m a singer/songwriter currently residing in the Washington D.C. area. The style of my music can be termed as acoustic based rock with a modern edge. My music is versatile being that I can play solo acoustic or with a band, depending on the venue. I've recorded 3 full length albums and sold around 10,000 units through word of mouth promotion only. On my most recent 2 projects I worked with 2 time Grammy Award winner Rob Burrell. I've been nationally distributed and worked with 2 independent labels. I'm currently working with Superphonic Records which is based in Birmingham, AL. Some accolades include being named Birminghams Best Acoustic artist in 2002 by the Birmingham Weekly Music Magazine and being part of a compilation CD tribute to Brian Wilson on which I was accompanied by such artists as Sixpence None the Richer and Phil Keaggy. My music reflects what is going on in my life...the real stuff. My lyrics are honest and from my heart. My music is characterized by memorable melodies and a back beat that makes you wanna dance. I've played in Atlanta, New York City, and places between. Hopefully you'll like the music so that I can visit your town soon.
