New Age Retailer, 2008: "Musical celebration reawakening and greeting the feminine divine. Shekhinah's love, light, power and mystery are revealed through the muti-cultural rhythms and sounds of Desert Wind. Glorious female vocals illuminate Her secrets from the Torah, Talmud, Zohar and Kabbalah."
Thanks to the Desert Wind fans who have kept this CD alive, and thanks to Reb Léah Novick for re-kindling Her spirit, Desert Wind now presents "Kabbalah Shekhinah: Restoring the Balance." This is the long awaited digital remaster of Desert Wind's 1993 CD, "Shekhina, Hebrew Goddess: Restoring the Balance." If you own this already, then you have all these songs in analog technology. Digitally enhanced, Kabbalah Shekhinah glorifies the radiant presence of the Feminine Divine.
Desert Wind embraced Kabbalah and Jewish Mysticism long before the recent surge in popularity of Kabbalah. With the new title may those in search find their way to "Kabbalah Shekhinah: Restoring the Balance."
"Lush and Inspiring.... Danceable with Great Fullness of Spirit" ~ Rabbi David Wolfe-Blank Berkeley, CA
"The time is ripe for this music as Shekhinah transforms our consciousness. This [music] will transform the Listener." ~ Geela Rayzel Raphael, Philadelphia, PA
"The music we have been waiting for...a blend of ancient, holy, and new age music with a sustained release infusion of kabbalistic essence of Shekhina's healing light, love, power and mystery. I can't stop playing the music!"
~ Rabbi Ayla Grafstein, of the Ruach Hamidbar, Spirit of the Desert Congregation, Scottsdale / Phoenix, Arizona
"The music and lyrics contain a blend of Middle Eastern, Spanish, Celtic, and Hindustani influences... about half in Hebrew and half in English. Sources are Old Testament, Talmud and Kabbalistic writings, showing the survival of the triple goddess in the basic foundations of Judaism.
Unique and Recommended!" ~ As reviewed by Ladyslipper.
"The underlying theme of this deeply spiritual work, masterminded by Alan Scott Bachman, is the need to restore a balance to our spiritual lives. It is music with soul-searching meaning for an active meditative state of mind.
For the pure music lovers, there is exotic music galore: rich and spicy Indian melodies with an Oriental matrix overlaid with Western rhythms on guitar and synthesizer. Religious and world music aficionados will recognize and enjoy the sound of the shofar or ram's horn in Goddess of Peace." ~ As Reviewed by Music Design, All-Music Guide

One of my most frequently played CD's.
author: Pamela A. Saunders
I was at the Utah Bellydance Festival last August. Desert Wind was playing live music for dancers dancing outside on the patio at the venue. Later that evening, I bought Desert Wind's "She Is a Tree of Life" CD from a local vendor at the festival. I played that CD occasionally until last month. Then I started playing it every day. Soon I also had to have "Kabbalah Shekhina: Restoring the Balance",(which is only available from CD Baby as far as I know). This one is also played here every day.
It seems I can't get enough of this combination of Jewish Mysticism and musical talent. I'll be on the lookout for more of this kind of music from Desert Wind. In the meantime, I'll check out some of their other CD's.
