Album Notes

Desiderata, at the moment, is a sextet: Alessandro Bruno, Alessandro Papa, Massimo D'Avanzo, Anna Cefalo, Adriano Clera, Filippo Guerini. Mostly we are an ensemble made of guitars, Celtic harp and voices, with the inset of percussions flutes and more.

The idea comes from the mix of a permanent guitar workshop (we all attended Guitar Craft courses) with the folk duo Da-Anaan. This implies, modality wise, the fusion between an orthodox craftsman approach and the immediateness of music; while in terms of style, between Celtic folk and new-chamber-progressive.

Actually at the moment we play mostly covers: each of us, in suggesting them, draws from the personal tank which contains everything we loved and always wished to play, so that now Desiderata is the place where such a dream can become true. We are an acoustic group playing pieces from a varied heap of authors and genres, as Piazzolla, Beatles, Penguin Cafè Orchestra, pieces from the Celtic/Anglo-Saxon tradition, and some original pieces too.
