Album Notes

Going Down to New Orleans. How ironic is it that their debut CD was released just weeks before Hurricane Katrina destroyed New Orleans? Although packaged and ready to go, production was stopped to include ONE more song. That song is "We Will Survive". Written while watching their home, New Orleans, being devastated by Katrina. The song was written as a personal song, only to be placed on their web site for family and friends. Never intending it to go any further than that, it was recorded in their home studio. Within 24 hours of putting it on their site, it took off. Local radio stations started playing it and web sites picked it up. Here it is as it was recorded in that one night.

Trying to describe Desire Street's music is like trying to describe New Orleans and South Louisiana to someone who's never been there. There's a diversity and uniqueness that you have to experience. Listening to Desire Street is like taking a walk down Bourbon Street. Every corner brings a different style of music. You'll hear Blues, Zydeco, Rock, Country, R&B and Funk.

The songs on the CD range from the Louisiana Party song "When You live Down Here" to the Zydeco rock influenced "Daddy's Little Girl". "Going Down to New Orleans" is true Roadhouse Blues and "The Promise" could fall right in with new Country, it also tells the story of how they met. Then there are songs like "Marie Laveau" which fans call the funky Monkey song and "That's Love" which has a grooving R&B feel. There's plenty of good rockin harmonica and Bluesy guitar. One thing is for sure, what ever your style of music is, you are sure to find something here you'll enjoy. Sooooo
GET READY TO PARTY.
