Here's a review from a local paper:

"Cheapsound Project", from newcomer Daniel Desmeules, is a breath of fresh air amidst an ocean of "generic" music... the album has a definite "Beatle-ish" feel to it, while at the same time keeping, like the title suggests, a certain homemade charm.

The subjects of the songs are rich and diverse, going from alien invasions to a debate on the existence of God, while tackling suicide issues and environmental concerns... this is definitly NOT light pop! The title track is a funny comment on the state of today's music, which the author doesn't seem to appreciate. All things considered, "Cheapsound project" is a great independent record and a must have for "Beatle-style" music fans.
