Album Notes

Hear Archbishop Desmond Tutu share his wise, heartfelt, and even humorous words with you in his own captivating voice.

This 4-disc unabridged audiobook gives you an intimate and life-changing encounter with Nobel Peace Laureate Desmond Tutu.

**NEWS FLASH**
...Just in December 2004...
'God Has A Dream' won a prestigious Earphones Award from AudioFile Magazine! ***

Reaching out to listeners of all religious backgrounds, Archbishop Tutu shows you how to transform suffering into joy--both in your life and in our world. He offers an extremely personal and liberating message in a work that Tutu calls "a cumulative expression of my life's work."

Echoing the words of Martin Luther King, Jr., Desmond Tutu says: "God says to you, 'I have a dream. Please help me to realize it.' It is a dream of a world whose ugliness and squalor and poverty, its war and hostility, its greed and harsh competitiveness, its alienation and disharmony are changed into their glorious counterparts."

God's dream, Archbishop Tutu explains, is a place where laughter, love, and peace reign and where we realize that we are all members of one family--God's family.

It is not enough to tell you about God's dream. Archbishop Tutu shows you how to live it.

In this 4 and a half our unabridged audio, Father Tutu helps you to "see with the eyes of the heart" and to cultivate the qualities of love, forgiveness, humility, generosity, and courage that we need to realize God's dream both personally and globally.

It is a joy to hear Archbishop Tutu's own voice. He combines wisdom with humility and love, and, most importantly, his profound teaching is based on his life and experience.

This CD is such a blessing to me. I have the book and have read it several times. It is really wonderful to hear Desmond Tutu reading, because you can really feel the love and passion in his voice. He has lived out what he has written. I am grateful to him for his example of courage and great love.

The power of Desmond Tutu's spoken word
author: Gumine

The audio version of Desmond Tutu's God has a Dream made his message come alive for me in a way that written version did not. Both versions speak of the importance of using love to evoke reconciliation-in our personal lives as well as part of the political process, but it's Father Tutu's voice as much as his words that demonstrates the compassion he is trying to instill. He has experienced the transformational power of love in both his personal life as well as the fight against apartied in South Africa. His spoken word underscores his message that if we consistantly practice love in our lives, in our relationships, and in our politics, we can transform the world to a place of social justice, peace, and practical love. This is the dream of God, of Jehovah, of Allah, of whatever name we happen to call God. I loved it, and so will you.
