Album Notes

Blues ranging from a taste of New Orleans with big brass funky sounds - to
the contemporary finger-snapping cuts resembling the David Lynch classic
Twin Peaks. Aces, Kings and Fi Fi Queens contains songs that you won't be
able to get 'outta your head' -- with enough variety to win over avant garde
music cults as well as die-hard blues fans. The influence of Taj Majhal,
Dr. John, Miles Davis, Cannonball Aderley, Tom Waits and other creative
artists who have pushed the edge of blues and jazz -- are apparent in the
compositions on this CD by Detroit Slim. With Aces, Kings and Fi Fi
Queens, get ready to sit by your CD player....closely...next to the 'repeat'
button...as it will be awhile before you listen to another CD!

Detroit Slim is the composer, orchestral arranger, lead guitar and singer on
his latest CD - Aces, Kings and Fi Fi Queens. Detroit has been expressing
a spontaneity and unbridled passion for music for over thirty years.
Originally from Detroit, Michigan - Slim began his music career energizing
crowds playing guitar with a soul-felt Motown funk band touring western
Michigan with gigs in bars, country clubs, medium security prisons...In the
1980's Slim headed east, entertaining crowds in Boston MA and in New York
City - then settling into his unique blues-jazz style with rough-cut
inspired vocals. Moving south in the early 1990's - Slim landed in
Washington DC - where his band 'City Heat' draws patrons from all across the
East Coast.
