My parents Carla and Kenneth Lavergne gave birth to Kendra Estes and me (Kenneth Lavergne Jr.). My sister was born on July of 1982 and I was born on July 30, 1989. I was born and raised on the southeast of Houston, Texas.
On August of 1993 I attended Mitchell Elementary School. I was a typical kid who loved attention and was very outspoken. At a young age I was introduced to the world of rap by listening to my sister's Kendra tapes. That is when I discovered that I had lyrical talents. Like all other kids I enjoyed to ride my bike. While riding my bike I would listen to some mixed tapes that my sister would let me borrow. From Tupac to Biggie Smalls I gained interest to the hip hop industry. In 1999 I attended Quail Valley Middle School. During my intermediate years is when I was inspired to be a rapper. Lil Flip, a Houston rapper was a big inspiration for me. At age 12, I free styled at a club called "The Spot". That is when I realized that not only did I have lyrical talents but I had the gift to entertain crowds. I started to compose my own songs week after week until I perfected my lyrical writing. At the time being my older cousin "Killa B" was into rapping also. Since we both had an interest in rapping, we decided to rap together. In 2002 my mom gave me a Karaoke machine for Christmas. That's how we both started to record our first songs. Later on we hooked up with our older cousin Lil Shaun. He decided to give us the name "Deuce Yunginz"; Deuce for being two and Yunginz for being young. He introduced us to his best friend "Hard Head", who has his own studio. We recorded our first song there, which was a big thing for us. In 2003, my mom had mentioned us to an old friend (Elton Childs) of hers, which was the C.E.O. of 2 Cold Records. That summer Killa B and I handed him a tape at our family reunion. After listening to our tape Elton told us that if we were serious with our music to come back when we had positive attitude in our lyrics. The following week, we came back with a new tape and signed up with 2 cold records.
Every since then we have been doing shows at middle schools and teen clubs. We auditioned for Sony and Universal records to win a major deal. Recently we performed for Sunkist Sun Lab for a chance to win $1000 dollars in studio time and studio equipment. Now things are really starting to take off, Killa B and I will be signing a major deal real soon.
KILLA B'S BIO
I was born into this world as Byron Richard Estes on October 23, 1988. I am the youngest of four children to Jessica Estes. I am currently at the age of 15.
I have the ability entertain verbally through hip-hop by writing my own lyrics. That's what I'm best known for. I can attract a crowd by using positive lyrics with rhythmic beats and bringing energy with each performance to keep the crowd's attention. I always loved music. Just listening to it made me want to become a rapper. I started rapping, and I was good. Then, it just came to me that rapping is a special gift that I have, and I will not let it go to waste.
I have a younger cousin, Lil Stretch, who was also good at rapping. We decided to rap as a group together. Back then; we were using karaoke machines to make songs. All that changed when I hooked up with my older cousin, Lil Shaun. He also raps. I gain most of my experience by listening to him. He has a best friend, Hard Head, who has a studio. We did our first song there. That was a major jump-start for us. Later, we met Elton Childs. We gave him a tape of us, and he loved it. The next week, we signed with 2 Cold Records. Since then, we did numerous shows in teen clubs, festivals, and Boys and Girls Club. We auditioned recently for Sunkist Sunlab for a chance to win $1,000. If we were good enough, we would go to Galveston for the finals, and we were good enough. We have good reactions to our shows. Kids want autographs, people want to shake hands, and we always get comments on a wonderful job we did.
I hope for the best for us in the future. My main objective is to entertain all audiences and set an example to kids my age that they can be anything they want to be. All it takes is dedication, commitment, and hard work. I want to gain respect from the adults and remind them that we are focused enough to stay in the industry and out of trouble. There so many children my age who are in the streets and doing wrong. I just want the audience to appreciate the fact that we have enough courage to withdraw from all of that and entertain in a positive manner.
