Album Notes

Brian's moving tribute the the heros of 9/11, 'New York's Damn Bravest,' was originally released in 2001, and has been very popular, particularly amongst firefighters. This album, originally released in 2003, includes that song, and an Irish language version of it called 'Is Mó Damanta Cróga Nua-Eabhrac,' which is a translation by the poet Réamonn Ó Cléirigh. There are a number of great new songs that Brian has written, as well as many special treats, including performances by Lugh D. DePaor (Luke Powers).

Séamas Ó Neachtain, who is featured as a musician and a poet on this CD, has remastered it to sound better than ever before, and Brian has added a bonus track, a new patriotic song called 'Thank You For Bein' America.' Brian's love for Ireland, the country of his people, which he often visits, and his love for America, his home, shine through every track.

Brian and his friends have been featured often on WFUV radio in New York.

REVIEWS

Simply the best alternative CD I have heard in years!
author: Ed Mack
The selections range from several moving ballads dealing with everything from Frank McCourt's Angela's Ashes to the heroics of the FDNY martyrs on 9-11, to poetry read both in English and the Gaelic language. The group takes on a variety of styles and incorporates guitar, banjo, bodhran, flutes, whisltes, accordian, and uillean pipes to tell passionate Irish and American stories in an authentic, traditional Irish musical style.
