Album Notes

Devine and LaRoche have their roots in traditional folk and acoustic music, as well as having grown up with the influences of rockabilly and country music.

Devine and LaRoche was started after Dennis and Rochelle had been singing together for over 20 years in the mountain music string band The New Sand Mountain Wildcats.

Dennis and Rochelle both sang vocals, both as lead and as harmony backup with several musical groups. After years of singing ballads and various musical styles, they found themselves both seeking out that unique blend of two voices that create that true duet harmony found in the traditional mountain singing. They both went to Elkins music camp one year and actually "bumped into each other" at a class on duet harmonies. That experience and the love of harmony singing created Devine and LaRoche.
