Album Notes

Lately, life has been good to me - I got to perform at this year's Lilith Fair and open shows for people such as John Hiatt, Shawn Mullins and Susan Tedeschi. I recently licensed one of my songs "Miles Away" to the Fox TV show 'Time of Your Life'. It will air July 19th, they'll play a couple minutes of the song during a bar scene...I'm sure the actors won't talk while I'm singing...hahaha!

My music is soulful and meaninful. My blues background shows through in my vocals - fans say there are lots of similarites to Janis and Melissa. I take that as a compliment.

One of my songs "Red Hot Sun" was chosen as one of the best 50 pop songs out of 30,000 in the '98 John Lennon Songwriting contest.

Buy the CD, you won't be sorry.

The most consistent feedback is that it's a disc you'll play over and over and over, no throw-away songs, that was a conscious effort!

Jennie DeVoe may not be a household name outside the Midwest area yet but she will be soon. When I hear about 6 songs from this CD I was intriqued; when I bought DSWOW and listened to the whole thing I was *blown away*. Rarely does a new artist impress me as much as Jennie did ... you don't really listen to her songs but rather you feel/experience them. She is a great songwriter with a wonderful voice and dramatic presence that shows great range in both her singing and writing abilities. From the opening songs like Barefoot to Babylon & Red Hot Sun to the heart-felt tunes like Everything and the title track, DSWOW, to the fun liveliness of Naked People ... Jennie takes hold of you with hear voice and doesn't let go until the beautiful final song Make Me Beleve (Cry). She'll make a believer out of you. She is definitely on my 5 Deserted Island CD list.
