I cannot possibly express how versitle and fresh this CD is. I've never had one CD make me want to tango, swing dance, and run in circles all at the same time. It's definately worth your hard-earned money, and make sure to check the band's website. They're also fabulous live!

running in circles...it's so true!

Just listen to #2 - "Devotchka". It's all about those circles the reviewer below was talking about. This cd reminds me of the brilliant time the band is live. Getting this cd is one of the smartest purchases you could hope for. It definitely feels like you are taken off this planet and placed in a land where the breeding of styles and influence is the only way to survive.

makes your soul sing
author: Kat
This CD is a phenomenal combination of gypsy and rock music. I'm a professional musician and find Devotchka's level of playing superb on this CD. The singing is soulful and draws you in--one minute you feel a sense of longing, and the next you are dancing in your skin.

I am so rocking with Devotchka again!
author: Karen
Saw Devotchka in Chicago four, five years ago, such good fun, and bought this CD. Lent it to a friend who was never seen again. Feeling nostalgic, did a google and found it! There is an alt-country rock meets east. european gypsy violins and accordian strain to this CD. Vocals are massively anguished good and wicked and the lyrics are solid. A rare, quirky and much appreciated re-find.
