Album Notes

Tom Dews and Jason Gross worked together in Philadelphia for six years. This album collects tunes from their performances plus some new stuff. They created a loyal fan base in Pennsylvania, and people were always begging them for a CD.

What you'll hear - virtuosic mandolin, with incredibly beautiful and deft improvisation - screaming but clarion -clear harmonica done in tandem with guitar, and distinctive and heartfelt vocals. Known for the quality of their vocal and instumental duets, the two show what they can do here.

An unlikely duo, Dews from the flat fields of South Georgia and Gross from the Ramapo Mountain area of New York, they create music which is an unusual but satisfying concoction. Kevin McConnell, well known Phil. bass player, joins the two here for what is mostly a live album. Kevin's solo on Harrington Shuffle cooks! It's obvious that these guys enjoyed making this music, and you'll enjoy listening to it.
