ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Acoustic Guitarist/Vocalist
February, 2003

"David Falcone is a wonderful guitarist whose playing equals and often surpasses many better-known fingerstyle artists. His deft touch pulls stories from the strings in wordless tales of inspired nuance, shifting rhythms and tempos -- all with flawless accuracy and a soulful feel."
(Rambles Cultural Magazine, July, 2002).

"The competence and precision of Falcone's playing suggests that for him this is not simply recreation but a vocation. This is a player not afraid to push his musical limits or to take chances when performing for his audience ... Falcone is a talented composer who manages to write contemporary fingerstyle guitar melodies with a strong connection to the past. His polished performance only serves to enhance what he has written".
(Sound Bytes Review, December, 2002)

Within the plethora of talent in Philadelphia's folk based and singer-songwriter community few can capture and share the imagination hidden within the world of fingerstyle guitar like David Falcone. Descriptions:" ... a heady stew of fingerpicking pyrotechnics," "Enticing original melodies," "hauntingly beautiful," and "a guitar virtuoso."

Falcone plays regularly in the Philadelphia, Eastern Pennsylvania and, New Jersey areas at various coffeehouses, bookstores, clubs and venues. He has also taken his music to Central Pennsylvania venues.

Falcone has shared billings with notables such as Leon Redbone at the Painted Bride in Philadelphia, PA, John Renbourn at the Lansdowne Folk Club, Erik Taylor at Plowshares in Phoenixville, PA., Julie Foster at the Minstrel Coffeehouse in Morristown, Nj and David La Motte at The Fire in Philadelphia, PA.. He has shared the stage with Antje Devukot, Akire Bubar, Colleen McFarland, Erik Balkey, Mia Johnson, Nancy Falkow, Michele Nagy, LisaBeth Weber, Steve Quelet, Ray Naylor and many other Philadelphia area performers.

Falcone's first CD, recorded at Longview Studios in Philadelphia, "Secrets of Sherwood" was released in 1997. His second CD, "Behind Your Eyes", engineered and mixed by Emmy Award winning Tim Craven at Gen-X studios, was released in 2001. Both CD's successfully mirror the intensity and passion that characterize the Falcone live performance.
When not writing, practicing or performing music, David is busy teaching in the Psychology Department at La Salle University.

Very good finger work, clean picking style
Very good work by this solo artist from Philadlephia, PA where you do not get to hear or see performers like this with this style of picking and celtic sounds.

patient fingers make great music
This CD reflects the artist's live performance perfectly. David's skill in fingerstyle is fluent and intense, and is reflected perfectly in this calm recording. I'm not much for those new age celtic guitar CDs due to the fact they are quite generic. David's CD is nothing like that. Every song is well thought out and executed with precision.
