ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Sidiki Diallo is a Senegalese Master Drummer who was born into a family of traditional musicians and drummers in Senegal, West Africa.

At the precocious age of 18 he was chosen to tour with the renowned Le Ballet d'Afrique in West Africa, the United States, Barbados and France. He also worked and toured with the Gambian based "African Experience" for 5 years. In addition he toured and performed with his own band and his Fathers band, for West African festivals and traditional ceremonies during his entire life, from the time he was a young boy.

This extraordinary, just released solo acoustic CD "Kayleen Ci Jamma Gi" (Come to Peace) features Sidiki playing all tracks. Sidiki plays djun djun, djembe and talking drum rhythms, which artfully demonstrate his exceptional talent with exciting and beautiful solos on every cut.

Tracks featured include Mandjiani, KakiLamba and Domba. In addition, the last cut features the beautiful "bon-go" (which looks like a giant kalimba) where Sidiki sings and and jams with its beautiful vibrations.

This is exceptional listening for anyone who loves West African music and a must for any student of African rhythms and African Dance.
