Album Notes
Diallo House - Bass
Stacy Dillard - Sax
Ismail Lawal - Drums

Reflection is a unique focus for conjuring the spirits of improvisation. Ongoing conversations between instrumentalists eventually continue on in the minds of the listeners, who remain hypnotized by the overbearing climatic passion of three key instruments interwoven, to create an acoustic sound that eclipses the soul.

The world surrounds us with distinct auditory and visual clues, that allow individuals to conceptualize with great detail, the nuances of sound. They can be translated into an array of shapes by way of action. Many sounds are changed by time and some remain unmoved by nothing.

The resonance created by reflection is an accurate deformity that for me becomes an idea, even after sound has rendered a shape for my mind to interpret. I still improvise what art has to be, because it is always evolving in my mind."

Night at the Eclipse
This album, Night at the Eclipse, truly highlights the talents of all three artists involved in the trio. Diallo House, who composed 4 of the tracks himself, shows off his dynamic skills on the bass. He lays the bass line down for the other two artists without flaw and takes many opportunities to expand rich and complex bass solos. Of particular note, his solo on “Three Sides” displays his deft control on the bass. House and Ismail Lawal have worked together many times before and it shows in how clearly comfortable they are playing off of each other throughout the album. Lawal, like House, displays incredible range from track to track. Not to be outdone, the powerful saxophone solos of Stacy Dillard are alternatively swinging and haunting, exploring the space only available in a drum-bass-sax trio. From start to finish, this album is definitely worth your attention, with echoes of Sonny Rollins and the strength of a sound unique to the trio.
