Album Notes

**2006 Toyota Starmaker Finalist at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, 20 - 29th Janaury 2006**

It is a familiar story the country girl who goes to the big smoke to pursue a career and often than not doesn't come back. This isn't the case for Diana Cormie who came back to the country to forge a new path as one of the newest rising stars of Australian country music.

Originally from Coonabarabran, in country NSW, and now living in Tamworth, Diana’s music is influenced by her grass root lifestyle and country upbringing. Whilst there are distinct modern country undertones detected in her music, it has also been described as cross-over, easy listening and folk. Her debut EP "Crooked Picture", produced by Glen Hannah, was released in 2003 and features four tracks. It exposes you to her real life experiences and challenges - straight from the heart, you will appreciate its honesty.

Having only been in Tamworth for one year, Diana has already begun to make her mark. She launched a 2006 Country Music Festival Album titled “All I Know” (12 tracks) and was a finalist in the 2006 Toyota Star Maker Quest, held 22nd January at the Toyota Country Theatre, Tamworth Regional Entertainment Centre (TREC).

Very good stuff. Agree that we need more songs...I believe that's coming soon with her new album...she has a myspace page, more info available there (and prob. some of her newer songs). But, musically and lyrically, an enjoyable CD.

I will state up front that i am an aussie but when it comes to music i am not biased. Like many of you I listen to alot of music on CDBaby and when i played her music clips from this website i thought what a great sound she has - so i purchased the CD from CDBaby. I also couldn't believe that i had not heard of this woman before since she lives in the same country as i do?? (this is what is so GREAT about CDBBaby - breaking down the barriers of music commercialism and giving us what we really want to hear not what the big boys think we would like to hear!!) Her music could be described as Country/Rock/Bluesy/Folk. I am not a real country music afficiondo but played like this it really appeals to me. Although there are only 4 songs on her album they are of very good quality. Diana has great vocals and her tunes are very catchy and even after the 2nd or 3rd listening you find yourself singing or at the very least humming along with the music. Crooked Picture would have to be my best track on the album .. but all 4 songs are excellent. As the previous reviewer remarked the only problem with the album is that there are not enough songs on the CD. I really wish Diana the best of luck with getting her music out there .... I can see no reason with music like this why she shouldn't be a very successful artist. I for one will be keeping a keen eye out for her next album.
