Album Notes

When it's time for a relaxing, special dinner - don't dine out - relax at home, candle light, wine and good music! Diana's vocals are rich and creamy in flavour along with the finest jazz musicians money can buy!

Legendary names such as Laurie Bower (trombone), Ian Bargh (piano), Duncan Hopkins (bass), Luis Mario Ochoa (guitar), and Don Vickery (Drums, percussion) grace the stage alongside Diana.

Singing since the age of 7 years, Diana has been working professionally - television, radio, video, film and musical theatre. She has performed with Oscar Peterson, the York Symphony Orchestra; and performed at places such as the Skydome, Maple Leaf Gardens, Royal York Hotel, Markham Theatre, Canada's Wonderland, and the Canadian National Exhibition to name a few.

TORONTO SUN writes:“The voice is powerful, growly or sweeping, husky with hickory smoke…she holds the last note, holds it forever, leaving the sax and drums in her dust.”

TVO television STUDIO 2:" Diana's voice is absolutely fabulous!"

TORONTO STAR writes:“It’s Diana Drew ’s rich voice that makes her exceptional!”

CKLN 88.1 radio:“I think the CD is wonderful! Her voice is effortless, delivered with smooth simplicity...just out of this world!"

740AM radio: "I really like her work!"

This CD is currently being played on 25 stations across Canada and the list is growing!

Warning: Be aware you may gain some weight from listening to this rich, creamy, smooth CD! Mmmmmmmm ... out of this world! Enjoy!

REVIEWS

A pure, untampered, rich, rich voice, making love to every melody...
author: Jazzamatazz! Edition
I own this CD, and the liner about Diana Drew will break your heart, and at the same time inspire you to stick your fist up in the air, and cheer her. This astonishing woman's beautifully rich, strong voice, was feared to be lost to cancer, but through her determination only became even richer and more sincere. Add in, tremendous musical support on the CD by her several big name Canadian band-members, playing some of thier best melodic music ever, to an inspiring variety of crispy classics and two excellent originals. In all, a CD that picks you up, and keeps you smiling. Absolutely great in the car or for dinner guests! Diana's voice on the CD is a pure and simple treasure, and one of the few that one could listen to for hours on end, and not get tired of. Play it, and play it some more... Cheers to you, Diana Drew for this sparkling diamond secret in the rough. Please grace us with another CD offering as soon as possible. Rod Stewart is beginning to drive me crazy! We found the CD to be very enjoyable. The choice of songs were all favorites of ours. The backup was perfect and the CD quality was superb. I'm running out of adjective. As always you can count on CD Baby to find something great.

WHOA CANADA! CHECK HER OUT!
author: jonaco
Meet the other lovely blonde Canadian jazz singer named Diana! She's Diana Drew, a regular at Toronto social and sports events and a cancer survivor. This set of standards, including some of my favorites like "My Foolish Heart", "Cheek To Cheek" and "Wave" (by A.C. Jobim), is perfect easy-listening jazz thanks to Diana's deep, warm delivery and a great backup combo led by two of Canada's best players, Ian Bargh (piano) and Laurie Bower (trombone). Diana's been singing for over 20 years but throat surgery left her with a burry, foggy voice that happens to be just right for this sort of material. Pretty and inspiring, Diana might make this Red Sox Nation resident root for the Jays so she can sing at the World Series! Great job, eh?

Our dinner guests love the CD!

This CD is absolutely fabulous! The music creates an upbeat, yet relaxed, soothing atmosphere after a stressful day. My favourite song is "Shadow of Your Smile" because I like the Latin flavours. We play this CD at our dinner parties. It is not at all unusual for our guests to ask where they can purchase a CD after hearing it.
