Made in Japan

by Justin DiCenzo

Moody, quirky music from Justin DiCenzo while he studied Japanese music at Osaka University of Arts. Break-ups, pure innocent girls, immaturity and loneliness set the landscape for this album.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Made in Japan has a dark undertone while maintaining a tongue and cheek quirkiness for which Justin is known. The CD opens up with a track about having to learn to cope with living alone in Japan. Then the songs deal with girls, who never call back, are too innocent to touch and who are too far away to maintain a relationship. There's a light turn towards the end where Justin's quirkiness and multi-instrumental talent shines in his theme song "The Jus". The song 'May Showers' is an instrumental which was recorded in a practice room at Osaka university of arts, is based around a series of 4ths that are the basis for Japanese music theory. The song came about after an incident on the street with a racist classmate in the middle of a typhoon.
