Booze It & Lose It is one of numerous songs created and recorded by North Carolina songwriter and musician Dick Barnes. It is a novelty country genre song with a strong bluegrass crossover sound. Although humerous, it sends a clear message. "Don't Drink And Drive" This song was given limited release in North Carolina to gauge public reaction. The results were very positive. The song is now being released nationally.

Dick Barnes has been performing since the age of three. Coming from a family of 12 children that made up two gospel quartets and a duet, Dick's early years in music were spent performing in many churches throughout the south. His deep musical roots broadened over the years to include performing country western and bluegrass music. His extraordinary gift for writing and performing songs is evidenced by the works on this CD. Dick's future plans include the release of more songs he has written. Dick Barnes is a former member of the North Carolina State Senate and North Carolina State House of Representatives.
