notes
Nashville songwriter, Dick Feller, wrote the John Denver hit, "Some Days Are Diamonds (Some Days Are Stone)." He also co-wrote the "millon airplay" song, "EastBound And Down" from the movie, "Smokey & The Bandit." Johnny Cash had a # 1 hit single with Feller's tune, "Any Ol' Wind That Blows."
Dick's own recordings, "The Credit Card Song" and "Makin' The Best of A Bad Situation" were both chart toppers. The Feller tune, "Lord, Mr Ford" was a #1 smash hit! "Biff, The Friendly Purple Bear" continues to be a much requested song at Dick Feller solo concerts.
Feller wrote with Lewis Grizzard, the late, Atlanta humorist, and was the opening act for the "Evening With Lewis Grizzard" stage show. "Alimony" is a Feller/Grizzard song.
Dick Feller songs have been recorded by such artists as: Ray Stevens, Jerry Reed, Mac Davis, Tex Williams, Lee Greenwood, Ed Bruce, The Kingston Trio, Burt Reynolds, Julie Andrews, Hank Thompson, and many, many, other top performers.
Coming to Nashville from Missouri by way of Los Angeles and New York City, Dick Feller has carved out a solid niche of his own from the hardwood of comporary American music.
"Cenatur of Attention" is the latest collection of great songs from a unique songwriter. Each CD is personally autographed by the artist.

I also felt the love.
author: Donald PyleI loved the email about the shipping of "Centaur of Attention". Plus the fast, prompt service. I have been looking for more Dick Feller for several years. I finally found his site, which led me to CDBaby. I have been a fan of Dick Feller since the 70's. We used to correspond a few years ago, then I lost contact. He is, without a doubt, one of the best 'pickers' I have ever heard. I have a long list of guitar 'pickers' that I love. Then more pluses is that he can write and sing. On top of this, he is an excellent comic. It's too bad that he didn't get more recognition. He sure does with me. I may not have everything he has done, but it must be around 99%. On this cd is a beautiful ballad I love. "I Just Don't Look Good Naked, Anymore" I am 70 and it fits perfectly. I am constantly playing his old vinyl records that I have changed to mp3.
I feel the love from CD Baby!
author: Timothy GoodrichFirst, the email I received informing me that my CD had shipped was hilarious! I LOVE any company that takes what it DOES seriously, but doesn't take ITSELF too seriously! Needless to say, I was VERY happy with the service, and the promptness with which I received my CD! Secondly, I have been a Dick Feller fan since hearing his novelty songs on KFRE in Fresno, CA back in the 70's, and "Biff The Purple Bear" is one of my all-time favorite stories! As I have come to know more about songwriting, my respect for Mr. Feller has grown tremendously. "Some Days Are Diamonds" was probably my favorite John Denver song (Bobby Bare also did a wonderful version of the song), and "Any Old Wind That Blows" is a true gem in the Johnny Cash catalog! Mr. Feller is truly a masterful songwriter, storyteller, and a dern fine guitar picker, too! Thanks for the memories, as well as some new laughs, too!

A veritable treasure and a source of constant amusement
author: Peter O'LearyI must have heard "Making the Best of a Bad Situation" for the first time about 20 years ago. I never knew who the artist was until a few weeks ago when I managed to track the artist down to your website, thanks to Google. I've had the CD Centaur of Attraction delivered very promptly to Ireland. I was very pleased to discover Dick Feller's other masterpieces. A veritable treasure and a source of constant amusement. A really funny guy.
Just my sense of humour and music.
author: JohnboyEnjoyed all but the last track - a bit disneyish for my taste. Overall well worth the money.

Dick is a folk singer with sense of humor
author: Cindy BThis is cd is for kids of all ages. The songs are comical. Yet the song, Biff, the friendly purple bear is timeless.
It's about time!
author: Tim StewartIt's great to finally see some of Dick's works in CD format. I would of liked to see more songs like Jerico Springs, but enjoy the tracks that are included. I, too was born in Bronaugh and have always enjoyed Dick's writing style.

This was a very good cd. I had about given up on finding anything by this artist, he is good.
Nothing Better
author: Joshua VoylesBeing 18 years of age, i have had little time to discover many musical talents. I recently came upon the old version of the credit card song by Dick Feller and was instantly hooked. After I found this CD, I was excited to hear all of the other Dick Feller hits. *(even though the old version of the Credit Card Song is MUCH Better)*
Old Friends
author: Paul DennisDick Feller isn't a great singer, but along with Billy Edd Wheeler, he is probably America's most imaginative song writer. "Biff The Friendly Purple Bear" got a lot of radio airplay in late 1973 - early 1974, as did the "Credit Card Song" and "Uncle Hiram" shortly thereafter. Like many talented song craftsmen, others had bigger hits with his material than Feller did, most notably John Denver with "Some Days Are Diamonds" and Jerry Reed with "East Bound And Down". One of the songs on this album "I Just Don't Look Good Naked Anymore" has become a big favorite here in Central Florida as there are a lot of performers that sing the song around here

author: ColleenThis cd had all it promised and more. I have been a Dick Feller fan for sometime now, but this was an outstanding compilation and I am enjoying this cd very much.
Entertained thoroughly
author: BarryDick Feller is very clever & funny. I thoroughly enjoyed this CD. The radio stations used to play songs like this, but almost never do anymore. I have been a fan of comedy records for many years.
Very funny and had tracks that surprised me
author: Ken BrownDick Feller is funny. I had known that for years. This is a great cd and had tracks that I did not expect. Very funny cd and kept me laughing throughout the entire cd.
Clever, Witty, Funny, Intelligent.
author: Mel Mc HugoAlthough I would have liked a backing band on this CD, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Big smiles on every track. More please, Dick.
What a blast from the past!
author: Dave TalleyIt is great to see Dick Feller’s music marketed online here at CD Baby. His writing wit is matched only in the Country Music World by his comical delivery of these great songs, which I have loved over the years. My favorites are featured on this album, Centaur of Attention. It is great to hear his newer releases from the album and I am eager to hear what comes next now that I know where to find him!
Worth Waiting over 2 DECADES for this CD!!! a 6-Star effort
author: Veronika BuchmaierFound 'Dick Feller Wrote', second-hand in the mid-eighties. My greatest treasure! Took until '91 to get a tape copy of 'No word on Me'(LP) and 'Some Days are Diamonds' (LP) - did swap of tapes with another fan. It was just not possible to find Dick Feller songs in Australia. Finally..... A fabulous Centaur! CD Baby... please can we have some more. Dick Feller has written so much ... funny, touching... just great songs and music. I'm certain that another 2 -3 CD's worth is there...just for the re-recording to CD. Please.... I may not last another 3 decades!!
Feller writes very good and funny songs, and knows how to perform. Great!
author: Per Ivar TautraAbout eighteen years have past since the last time Dick Feller had a solo release. But his new CD will definitely not turn out to be a disappointment for all those who have been waiting for more. Dick does still know how to write good songs, he knows how to sing them the best, and how to pick his guitar. And he shows it all on ”Centaur Of Attention”. ”Centaur” is a compilation of some of Dick’s funniest tunes ever. Some of them he has recorded before, some of them have previously been recorded by other artists. Together they represent different periods of his career. They also show you his ability to not only write songs about almost everything, but also that he is able to write well about everything. Check out his funny observations of life in such songs as ”The Coin Machine”, ”Lord, Mr. Ford”, ”Instant Glue”, or ”Makin’ The Best Of A Bad Situation”. And laugh! You should also pay attention to his new and updated version of the classical hit, ”The New Credit Card Song”. It felt so good hearing someone put these words in a song: "Well, I got the usual phone menu. Press One for This, for That press Two. And twenty minutes later a real alive person came on the line." ... On the more serious side, we are given "Biff, The Friendly Purple Bear", which is not inferior to the original recording from 1973. This CD cannot be reviewed without a special mention of Dick Feller’s furious guitar playing. He has a way of accompanying on the acoustic guitar that suits this type of story songs very well. This reviewer has played ”Centaur Of Attention” many times already. I will recommend the CD. And if you aren’t already a Dick Feller fan, listening to this CD will make you become one!
