Album Notes

Dick Summer is a story teller.... (New York Daily News)
Dick Summer has one of America\'s most comfortable and familiar voices. He was a top radio personality on the NBC Radio Network and in New York City and Boston. Dick is now heard every day on national radio and television commercials. He is also a pilot, a poet, and a hypnotist. His five highly successful \"Lovin Touch\" books were published by Random House and Bantam Books.
PERSONAL AUDIOS (sm) are CDs and tapes that keep you company. They\'re always there for you, even in the middle of the night. They can make you feel safe and comfortable. They can give you courage. They can make you laugh and cry. Unlike \"Audio Books\" which take hours of concentration, PERSONAL AUDIOS (sm) are quick \"Time Outs\" for people with over stressed, sometimes solitary, and often frustrating lives. Dick Summer took his radio listeners for emotional trips like these every night. But PERSONAL AUDIOS (sm) take you well past the limits of where radio could ever go.

Night Connections 2

Thinking is a very introspective, personal thing. That is until you listen to Dick Summers Night Connections 2. Somehow he has gotten into your mind, listened to your thoughts and then gives a very vivid reproduction of that inner sanctum you thought was not just yours, but safe from others. Dick Summer has been called a master storyteller, but candidly after listening to Night Connections 2, he is of course not only that, but more honest with life’s lessons and truths then even we care to admit. His voice puts you into the story itself and when you think you know what will come, decides to change directions and leaves you scratching your head thinking “I didn’t see that one coming.” One particular track entitled “Just Enough” has to do with a subject near and dear to his heart, flying. This is one of those stories that gives you one of those I didn’t see it coming moments. Judge for yourself. So do yourself a favor, sit down, listen, and find out for yourself why the enduring spirit of his works are both well crafted and well told. I will wager that at times you are thinking he is not only talking to me, but about me!

I loaded Dick's newest CD into my car as I started my 1 hour commute to work, as the stories unfolded into my world, I was brought back to the nights that I would sneak in a listen to Dick on the late night airwaves of New York in the mid 70's. His voice and narration will bring you into the story. He paints a picture that is all too real and you will see yourself taking the place of the characters. If you follow Dick's stories at all you will understand his attention to detail always sets the scene as totally believable and his voice will place you in that scene. He has done it again!

30+ years after listening in rapt attention to his late night, NY radio show, I am still mesmerized by the lilting and mellifluous voice of Dick Summer, who can soothe and calme your spirits better than any lullaby and rocking chair. If you're alone at night, his story-telling is like having a friend in the room, and if you're with a romantic partner, his touching stories become the background 'music' to enhance your ambience of love. The first story in this series especially grabbed me with its ironic, surprise twist. There are 14 varied-themed vignettes of human interactions between seemingly real people from all walks of life to whom it is so easy to relate (in part because of the clever use of the 2nd person narrative) that it feels as if Dick Summer is talking not only to us, but at times even about us. It is impossible to imagine any listener not being moved by these original and poignant observations on the human condition.
