The Bill DiCosimo Quartet, formed in 2003 released its first CD, "Grab Hold Of Your Dreams" on DiCosmic Records in June, 2006 and later that year through CDBaby. The album garnered recognition being nominated for a Syracuse Area Music Award (SAMMY) in the best jazz release category. The group was invited to perform at the Syracuse M & T Jazz Festival, Detroit International Jazz Festival and the EA Jazz U Festival in Mosina, Poland. The album has received airplay on over 120 radio stations worldwide. The new release: "Threads" is an all original set of music compositions written by Bill DiCosimo that features an underlying concept . Bill states: " It was my desire to write material for the group that blended our love of Jazz, Jazz-rock, Blues, Latino and World Music plus my own fondness for the great songs of Tin Pan Alley and contemporary art songs. Each composition has either a personal story or observations of the world in which we all live. " Two of the compositions are dedicated to the passing of Bill's dad and sister. Other lyrics stories deal with such controversies as today's societal issues ("Gone From This World"), corporate scammers ("Emperor's New Clothers") passionate relationships ("Look My Way"), uplifting friendships ("Lighten Up Your Heart") and irony ("Said The Spider to The Fly"). The album was recorded at DiCosmic Recording Studios owned and operated by Bill DiCosimo with final mix and mastering by Matt Wagner at J.A. Castle Studios, Utica, NY. We are pleased to bring this new release to our current and future friends and fans. Enjoy!
