Album Notes

Written and recorded during the summer and fall of 1997, emerge was released in late October of the same year to much anticipation. A bit of a departure from the more technical metal roots of dieAgnostic, this album exhibited very thoughtful song-crafting and a flow of arrangement and pacing that lent itself to other influences such as Tool and the deftones. The production on emerge is also incredible considering the band's meager budget and the small window of time it was created in. It can stand against many CDs of the mid-to-late 90s as far as sonic quality is concerned (and creative quality for that matter!).

emerge was initially sold and debuted at Bloodfest (10/24/1997), a Halloween-themed event that dieAgnostic had been putting on for years. In that night alone, more than 100 copies of the disc were sold for $10 each. Not a bad haul for a local band in a "small" town like Augusta, GA! Sales of the disc would continue to be brisk and it received continual praise and acclaim.

Many people who have listened to emerge have often said "it's just as good or better than any signed band's album out there" and "it's better than most the rock and metal on the radio these days". dieAgnostic fared well in their hometown and surrounding area due to the popularity of this release (and the intensity of their stage shows), often playing local gigs that reached capacities of 300-600 people.

Although dieAgnostic has been disbanded since 2001, they recently reunited to perform Bloodfest XV (10/24/2009), the show that they created and that has continued on even in their absence. All 300 of the $8 advance tickets were sold a week before the night of the show, and more people gladly paid $10 once the doors opened to easily max out the venue's 500-person capacity. A turnout of this magnitude is generally the exception and not the rule these days for local bands in Augusta, GA, and the success of this event can be attributed in large part to the popularity of emerge. Although there are a very limited amount of copies left of the disc, ten copies of the CD sold for $20 a piece that evening, and sold very quickly!

The reason this album is finally being "digitized" is due to continued demand for it -- 12 years after its release! There are no plans currently to produce more physical copies of emerge, but it's not completely out of the question that a deluxe edition may be developed at a later time -- for those truly die-hard fans. :)

More could be said perhaps, but let the album speak for itself. Listen to some songs, and if you like it, you like it. Okay?
