Biography
In the summer of 2001, a New York musician known as Shyndigg formed a new band called Digg Deep. Through this band, he married the styles of Hip-Hop with the style of the great Burt Bacharach. This fresh idea, he would call Diggably, Musique Noire/Symphonic Soul. Digg Deep began playing live shows at some of New York's most popular clubs such as SOBs, Mercury Lounge, Club Shine, and the Izzy bar. It was at one of those shows that they were witnessed by Scott Hockens & Victor Guzman of Grade 44 Records , a New York based record label, who immediately financed their debut album. What has surfaced is already being dubbed "The Soundtrack Of Your Life." The album is entitled InDiggNation (A Nation within a nation), and contains twenty tracks, all worth listening to. Among these unique compositions such as Change is, Temple, Hopin' & Prayin,' and the curious 'All about Ass,' are two re-arrangements of well known songs, one being Billy Joel's 'Still Rock and Roll to me,' re-titled, 'Still Funk & Soul II me;' and Sly & the Family Stone's, 'I Want To Take You Higher.' Once you've heard Shyndigg's versions of these two songs, you'll realize that life was not meant to be shallow. The players on this album, are themselves some of the most outstanding and unique musicians on the New York music scene. Glenn 'the Assassin' Mauser is stellar, moving, and committed on saxophone's; Tarrah Reynolds is brilliant on violin's and violas; Mike "Da Mackavelli" Barnes, is vicious and rapid on guitars; Jerome Jordan is powerful and to be envied on vocals; Issy Kimchi and Howard Alper are rock steady on drums; Etienne (ATN) Lytle is comprehensive and phenomenal on keyboards; and the incomparable Tanya Thillet is the Diva and intimidator to be reckoned with on lead vocals. These musicians are beyond talent.
Shyndigg is the producer, composer, arranger, bassist, and vocalist of both the album and band. He believes that "one of the greatest constructions of the 20th century is the song," and is constantly amazed that despite the fact that there are only twelve tones in the scale of western music, that through the ages musicians have invented numerous different melodies, simple enough for anyone to sing. Shyndigg and Digg Deep perform with passion, and are the newest and most unique sound to arrive in a long time. The time has come for us all, to Digg Deep!!!!!!!

What we have here is ground breaking music
author: Soul-Patrol Newsletter - Bob Davis
Mainstream critics upon hearing this CD would probably miss the groove of this album and compare it to something by Lenny Kravitz. However we know better here. What we have here is ground breaking music that if was made available for public consumption on a mass scale, would actually change the entire music scene as we know it.

Shyndigg is an incredibly talented bassist, composer, arranger, producer AND voc
author: The Inside Connection Magazine
"Definitely without a doubt one of the most musically satisfying and artistically complete independent recordings that I've heard all year! Digg Deep takes r&b, funk, soul, rock and hip hop grooves, at times combined with lush string arrangements, to come up with "InDiggNation"...an entirely new mix of music that should definitely be checked out without haste! - Anthony Richards

Shyndigg is clearly a man who thinks outside the box. Shyndigg's original vision
author: Andrew Lynch
New York musician Shyndigg is clearly a man who thinks outside the box. The idea behind his band Digg Deep is to marry hip-hop beats with the classic songwriting values of Burt Bacharach, a supremely ambitious undertaking that he's dubbed Musique Noir. As if this wasn't already over-egging the pudding, he's thrown saxophones, violins, keyboards and two vocalists into the mix. The results are as messy as you would expect, but there's a good-humoured spirit running throughout InDiggNation that makes it a largely enjoyable listen. The 20 tracks includes re-workings of well-known songs by Billy Joel and Sly and the Family Stone, while on several of the original compositions Shyndigg's original vision shines gloriously through. A fine achievement.
