Diminished Fifth Records is pleased to have the honour of releasing ‘The Music of Artisanship & War: Volume I’ a 17 song Compilation CD which was created with the intentions of presenting the best heavy music within the East Coast of Canada.

The album will feature 17 devastatingly diverse tracks, ranging in focus from the brutality of Halifax's extreme metal scene veterans, HELLACAUST and TERRATOMB to the hard and heavy rock and roll of WAR PONY. It will also include the shifty melodic metal, of the label's own, The ORCHID'S CURSE, the young and ferociously aggressive, IN PURGATORY, the groove-heavy music of STRONG HOLLOW, the unconventional stylings of HUGE, the traditional metal fury of LEGIONS OF CHAOS, Sydney, Cape Breton's best kept secret, ATHYMIA, and the relentless assault of GOOD LOOKIN OUT, who are NS Born but now are relocated in Calgary, Alberta. It doesn’t stop there… In New Brunswick,the Moncton area has spawned such fine metal bands as the socially conscious and progressive, DISCHORD, the pummeling, yet symbiotic sounds of LAID TO WASTE, the newly formed and vicious, PARIAH and the sludge filled doom that is known as GALLACTUS. Also from Saint John, N.B. you have the precision black metal of BOUND IN HUMAN FLESH and in Sussex, N.B. the talents of thrash-metal experts, RUSTED DAWN. Last, but certainly not least is Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island's, CHARA who are insane, brutal and highly entertaining.
