Album Notes

Jazz vocalist Dina Blade is based in Seattle, Washington, USA and was "born to sing". Specializing in classic jazz standards from the 1930's and 40's, she has written several shows featuring composers and lyricists of the Great American Songbook (Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, Dorothy Fields, etc.) touring both nationally and internationally. Dina's inimitable phrasing can be attributed to the fact that she is also an accomplished tap dancer and guitarist. She works with all age groups, giving clinics in singing and sharing her talents as a performer and jazz historian.

"Ms. Blade fits into her band's sound like a racecar driver into a Lamborghini...a great voice with a distinctive style all her own that left me wanting more." -Mark Manning, Victory Music Review

"Dina's voice is warm and inviting, fresh and original, with just a touch of coyness in her delivery." -Jim Wilke, KPLU's "Jazz Beat"

"...smooth and delicious." -Carol Newman, KMUN radio

"You have such a great quality to your voice. I love the naturalness, great intonation, and real understanding of the lyric all the way through. -Bill Mays, jazz pianist

"What a fun session! Your phrasing and sense of rhythm are pretty sophisticated, Dina."
-Joe LaBarbera, jazz drummer

"Light, sassy and fun." Jason West, Jazz Steps News
