There are those who'd say that singer/songwriter Dionne Blaize was destined to sing even before she could talk. She imitated songs she heard her mother singing as early as six months, and has not stopped singing since. From her church choir to the Performing Arts departments in her junior high and high school, Dionne wrote, composed, and sang with equal enthusiasm.

With Whitney Houston serving as her biggest source of inspiration, Dionne determined she would have a career in music. Years of hard work have paid off, and she hopes eventually to realize her dream of collaborations with the like of Sean Paul, Beenie man, Shaggy, Kanye West, Missy Elliot, R. Kelly, Terry Lewis, and Jimmy Jam, among others.

After emigrating from Grenada, Dionne's parents raised her and three siblings in Brooklyn, a city whose cultural diversity continues to inspire her work. Her voice has often been compared to great reggae artists like Cynthia Slosh & Judy Boucher, while critics and enthusiastic listeners alike comment on Dionne's strong musicality and dedication to her craft. More important to Dionne however, is her desire not just to make great music, but in so doing, to touch hearts.
