Album Notes

“An earthy and soulful collaboration… where everything beautiful collides with the haunted remains of the heart.” - Jonathan Bitz, Denver syntax

Based in Denver, CO, the Dirt Circle Dogs are all Multi-media artists with work ranging from illustration and design to creative writing and experimental theatre, and from punk-rock to choral music. The resulting aesthetic combines rigid structure and tradition with exploration, chaos, struggle and an obsession with finding that glimmer of darkness in all the sunshine.

The bright/dark sounds of the Dirt Circle Dogs have been compared to Low, Papa M, Radiohead, Modest Mouse and Portishead, with a constantly-shifting instrumentation that ranges from a standard rock lineup to cello, violin, mandolin, glockenspiel, sampler and anything on hand.

After releasing their first single, the Dirt Circle Dogs have been playing regularly around Denver at venues including the Meadowlark, Walnut Room, BINDERY Space, Herman’s Hideaway, Leela Cafe and house parties. Their first Album, Kingdom Come, was released in July of 2009.
