Album Notes

Dirt in the Whiskey began as an informal get together of several songwriters from Chicago bands. We would share new material with one another, get ideas, help each other polish our songs, talk about the world and have a good ole time. After a while we realized that we had developed a "sound" and had some songs that we all really enjoyed. So we pulled out a 16 track recorder and soon a CD was born (kudos to Matt Denny and our friends at Uptown Recording for their touch up magic).

The instruments were recorded live with minimal overdubs, to capture the feel and the spirit of good buddies getting together to sing songs and tell tall tales. As you can hear, some of our discussions about the state of the world made their way into the songs. The CD is an example of what you can do when everyone pulls together in the same direction and is our grassroots demonstration that it does not take much to be heard.

Dan Kaplan: Dobro, Lap Steel, Vocals

Drew Heckman: Guitar, Vocals
