Album Notes

This is the long awaited debut from Las Vegas' garage punk kings The Dirty Babies. The Babies formed in Oct. 2001 and quickly gained notice for their high octane live shows. The CD has more than a few passing nods to the Babies' musical heroes, The New York Dolls, Stooges, Ramones, Seeds, Count Five etc... So if you're into classic 60's & 70's style punk this is what you've been waiting for!

They Are The Real Thing/ No Garage Revivalists/ No Formula!

With the recent flood of Neo-Garage bands, it's a real treat to hear a band that would be doing it anyway. They are surely long-time fans of 60's/early 70's Punk. It's obvious by the subtle, and sometimes cryptic, musical dialect unique to authentic Garage/Punk. All that aside, This record (I have the vinyl LP at home) is the most vital Punk Rock release since the Mummies broke up, or maybe the first Rip Offs record, except without the corny, intentional lo-fi recording. This album is tight and punchy, and it's mastered hot, hot, hot!! Maybe a hair under Iggy's latest mix/master of Raw Power, volume-wise, it jumps out of the speakers and beats you up! What do they put in the water in Las Vegas?
