notes
Dirty Barby's chaotic punk rock and theatrical stage show have established themselves a fierce notoriety in their hometown of Orlando.
The band is fronted by the unbalanced and sexually ambiguous Puce Glitz, a shrill-voiced glam rocker smothered in lipstick and covered in bruises obtained in the violence and mayhem of another unpredictable performance.
This debut offering's infectious songs are propelled by pulsating drums, melodic basslines and splintering guitars that crunch and whine, with rarely a track clocking in at over two minutes.
The angst-ridden melodies and girlishly haunting backing vocals are reminiscent of both 70s punk rock and 80s new wave.
Brutally catchy tunes and frightening makeup combine to make Dirty Barby a fascinating and refreshing oddity in a city notorious for producing boy bands and bland pop.
Love them or hate them as they spit and curse their way through 15 tracks of sheer insanity...

The CD came like the next day and I really liked the vocals. I liked how haunting the music was, it really reflected the chaois and dissorienation of life.
Dirty Barby pretty much sums it up
author: AdamI just wish they had more stuff out there! I stumbled across them online and kinda took a chance to order this CD, and I don't regreat it! Made me want to put on my heels and kick some ass! This album has been on repeat!
Dirty Barby deliver a sexually confused punk crock album
author: Dizzy DragQueenThis album is one massive shock rock/punk album that delivers sexually confusing, angsty noise that delivers the point straight to your face and without mercy. Puse, the transvestite lead singer, delivers his womanish vocals with unprecedented style. The other musicians make a profitable contribution to the album, giving it the feel of a Twisted Sister or W.A.S.P album, only more aggressive. A definite 5/5!
its awsome

This CD rocks, I watched this movie Vampire Clan and this song was on there that I kept rewinding to hear, so I checked the credits and saw that it was Nothing's Real by Dirty Barby, so I got the CD here at CdBaby and have been listening to it atleast once or twice a day since.

i didnt think i would enjoy dirty barby mainly being bacause of how they look i thought it was really silly so i never bothered to give them a chance, but i kept hearing about them through different people, websites, magazines etc. so i decided to put my judgements aside and give it a go. anway i found their cd to be absolutely brillaint, fun and emotional on certain songs. it just goes to show that you should never judge a book by its cover! i cant wait for their next release, makeup or no makeup you all rock! keep it up and stay strong!

Chaotic kick ass punk is what Dirty Barby is about...and i love it!
author: DustinThis cd is the new sounds of rock. They are briging something back that everyone thought was dead. The screaming vocalist and the back-drop of screeching guitars and pounding drums are what makes them so orginal. Add there wild stage antics to boot and you have Dirty Barby...the next wave of Punk.

author: XWhoa!!!!! If I was ever gonna ram my head into a wall this is the cd I'd do it to and then I would come back for more. "Sleep When I'm Dead" is a pure adrenaline rush. This one is goin in my car, so watch out Orlando you don't wanna be anywhere near me when I'm driving with this cd on.

With their chaotic brand of lunatic punk, Dirty Barby is a band you'll probably either love or hate. We happen to fall into the category of those who love them. If you crank this record up loud enough, you'll swear you're at CBGB's. Recorded at Reel Time Studios, the mix is good and the musicianship is tight. The high-pitched vocal shrills of singer Puce Glitz contribute to the mayhem that is "Sleep When Im Dead". True to the old school punk convention, most of the 14 tracks--including a 15th hidden bonus track--clock in at under two minutes.

Dirty Barby takes a lot of ideas that have existed in punk for decades and, miracle of miracles, actually make them work. The sing-screamy vocals remind me of all-female punk rock from the early '90s. You could say Dirty Barby is an evolution of the bands The Third Sex and Raooul, if those bands had learned to play their instruments. It's not to say this is a female-fronted group--with their horror-drag, who knows? Nevertheless, I'm a big fan of this CD because the music is fast driving punk rock mixed in a way making it easy for repeat listening.
