notes
DIRTYWHITE FASHION / THIRTEEN is an emotionally intense, rootsy rock record laden with hooks, honest lyrics, and ear catching songs. Lead singer and guitarist Feck has penned an album worthy of several listens, from the electric pulses of SOMEDAY, to the ethereal and deep layers of DRIVE. Sure to please fans of Wilco, Pete Yorn, and Coldplay, DIRTYWHITE FASHION's freshman effort is an album to put on the headphones, let the world drop away, and forget yourself listening to.

Most likeable debut album of the year....
author: Alicia KoledinThis one wins most truly likable debut album of the year, and it’s a wonder the guys from Dirtywhite Fashion aren’t already mega superstar recording artists with overplayed radio hits. Gentle, bittersweet songs such as “Simple Brick Houses” and “Married Life” are irresistibly touching. Gracefully crafted tunes like the jolly “Medicine Girl” and the earnest, pleading “Take Me To Your Place” showcase refreshing, lilting vocals and sprightly melodies. The charismatic “Someday” is as creative as it is catchy. The evocative lyrics are at once the words of a wise old sage and a mischievous young imp. Commercial, yes, but consistently clever.
Absolutely love this CD!!!
author: Shelly RasmussenThis is a GREAT CD full of meaningful, inspiring lyrics and moving music! This is a must have!! P.S. The art work done also on this CD cover in my opinion is very impressive too!
The best CD to come along in a while.....
author: SusanIronically, the best CD I have bought in months came from a band that I had never heard of, and never would have unless I happened to overhear an aquaintance talking about them. Not on mainstream radio, not at Walmart.....the only question I have is, WHY???? This is a band that believes every word they say and every note they play...."Married Life" is such a moving and unique song, I listened to it 3 times in a row the first time I heard it. "Someday" sounds like a futuristic version of the Beach Boys, with a little Beatles thrown in for good measure. Worth the $8 bucks? ABSOLUTELY.
Unbelievable soul.....
author: William Wallace"Thirteen" is one of those CD's that just gets better the more you hear it....from the orchestral soul of "Drive" to the unrelenting swagger of "The Sad Light of Morningtime"....everything about this CD screams honesty, guts, and great songwriting. Definitely on my top 10 list of 2002. Best of luck guys!
Thirteen is a quantity of quality versatile music !
author: Laura T. Lynch of Kweevak.comTheir sound can be described as roots rock with contemporary flavors and a touch of pop. Some of the slower songs on this collection remind me of the austere singer songwriter style with sparse instrumentation and a focus on lyrics and vocals as found on Married Life. Dirtywhite Fashion is candid and the essential format of guitar, bass, percussions and keys has a crisp full-bodied sound. Feck, the lead vocalist, guitarist and drummer has a wide expressive vocal range and the background singing blends well with his diverse style. Yoon on bass provides steady solid groves throughout and Will Sprawls invents creative sounds and moods on his keyboard. Dirtywhite Fashion takes melodic rock to the next level with their imaginative honest sound that grows better upon each listen. Thirteen is a quantity of quality versatile music!
Rock History is finally challenged once again!
author: romulusAmazing Guitar & solid vocals with believable Medley driving clever tunes is what Dirtywhite Fashion delivers with fresh originality! This band delivers a tune built to last rather than mimicing the many current gimmicky trends in the commercial rock world. This band plays on its on terms, challenging the listener to what rock use to be! Pushing the edge between a great tune thats safe, and a new sound that takes you to the cutting edge of rock history's greatest act's, yet very original, passionate, believeable & fashionable...Dirtywhite Fashion is a great name that will last with their songs or any direction this bands chooses to musically travel to. Hopefully, they will let us bums tag along!
Awesome CD that ignites every emotion from beginning to end
author: Diamondgal from VirginiaEver since I first listened to this CD, I find myself humming the tunes or singing a verse throughout my busy days. Everyone can relate to these songs at some point in their lives, and if you really listen to the words, they will ignite every emotion from laughter to tears. I can't wait until they release their next CD!
Thirteen truly is a goregous album......
author: Pete Knapp, President, Shut Eye RecordsThirteen is an amalgam of some ot the greatest pop/rock acts to have ever recorded music. I hear elements of Elvis Costello, Wilco, The Who, Bruce Springsteen, etc. The most attractive component, however, is your ability to amass these influences and make them all your own.
I almost feel blessed, or charmed, or just plain old damn lucky to have receive
author: Michael WallsWhat are you guys doing wrong? This CD is better than anything I've actually purchased in the past year, and could possible stand the test of time and remain in my regular rotation for years.
