Album Notes

Engraved 4-9-1-6 is based on the scripture of Isaiah chapter 49 verse 16 (which is where the “4-9-1-6” in the title comes from) that says “See I have engraved you on the palms of my hands”. This was Isaiah giving the prophecy of what was going to happen to Jesus Christ when he died for the sins of mankind.
Engraved 4-9-1-6 is a metaphor for the passion Christ had freeing us from the bondage of sin. Just like some people write names or phone numbers in the palms of their hands, Christ went through a similar experience. He had those long metal spikes pierce through his hands; it was like he was writing the names of all of the people that he was dying for in the palms of His hands. Jesus represented us (and still represents us) the way nobody else ever could.
The difference between this album and a lot of other hip-hop/rap albums is that this album serves as a ministry tool for reaching the youth in this community and across the world. Throughout the album there is one constant message: Jesus Christ is The Way The Truth and The Life and no one gets to God the Father but through Him.
Since most youth in this world listen to hip-hop music and are highly influenced by the hip-hop culture, ministry through hip-hop is one of the most effective and creative ways to reach youth.
I want this album to bless people who already know Jesus, and to minister to people who might not know Jesus. If someone who doesn’t know Christ purchases and listens to this album, they could surrender their life to Christ as a result of the lyrics and the message in the music.
In that case, the album: Disciple-Engraved 4-9-1-6, accomplished what God set it out to do.

I bought this almost one year after buying "Day 3" when it first came out. This one is powerful, if for nothing else, the title and theme. Isaiah 49:16 - engraved. I love the way Disciple helps us see in plain language what the scripture says about the Savior. Keep standing in the gap Disciple!!
