Disciples Of Groove stay true to their name in sound, spirit, energy, and life.
author: Sarah Gant
Disciples of Groove's sound completely depicts their band's name. The music is the sound of four talented musicians following their heart and soul. You can hear that in the lyrics, in the jazzy sound waves, and in the energy and heat of the crowd. DOG has created their own Company Policy in their own genre of music. The saxophone adds color to the sound, which most bands are deprived of. The drums provide a strong foundation and keep the band sounding upbeat. The bass is consistently amazing the listeners and the singing adds a genuine flavor and personality to the whole ensemble. In essence, Disciples of Groove have a rare quality of sound that represents the different levels of life everyone can relate to.

Remember when....
author: Matt Landis
...music was what really mattered in the music industry? When bands like Funkadelic were blowing up? When Curtis Mayfield and James Brown were reinventing our entire concept of groove? Remember when cats like Coltrane could lay down some knowledge with a tune like Gian Steps? Probably not. All of that happened 30 or more years ago. D.O.G are one of the few bands hearkening back to that tradition of well...talent, ambition, and musicianship. They blend together the virtuosity and artful arrangements of bands like Rush and early Yes with the solid backbone and neck-snapping funk of the Meters and the Chilli Peppers. Their songs are catchy, the musicianship incomparable. So do the music industry a favor--send them a message, and make sure it's loud, crude, and filled with profanity. BUY THIS CD. Stop supporting coroporate pablum and support the invigorating style represented on D.O.G.'s ep. If not for yr sake, then the sake of yr children's idea of taste. After all, do you really want them to live their life believing Fall Out Boy was the best band of their generation?

Man, I remember hearing the early demos of this CD and calling those amazing. Every couple weeks or so a new song would be added to demos until it became this 7 song EP. Each track brings you through amazing instrumentals and amazing lyrics-- a hard combination to find in new music on the radio, and especially locally.
