i was among the 20 who stayed at the end of progscape-1 in towson, md at about 1:30am to hear these guys. when matt came out in whiteface, i was like thinking icky neo theatrics - time to go home. but then he begins singing the opening to canto iv and my jaw dropped. it was like vdgg but w/out the harshness. when they did "camilla", well that was it. i immediatley put in an order to buy their debut and really dug their follow up as well.

Discipline only recorded two studio cds, together with some hard to find earlier cassettes, and this album neatly encapsulates just how bloody good they were. With material from both albums (unfolded like staircase is the reviewer's favorite)this has to be added to your collection if you are at all serious about listening to quality music, prog or otherwise. At least matt parmenter is recording some solo stuff now, with 2004's astray to hopefully be followed by a new album anytime soon. Check out his myspace site for updates as they come available.

Between Me And the End is a piece not available in either studio release, and it is worth the full price of the CD, but the rest is amazing too. The price is a bit steep, but I suspect this will be going out of print soon, so chop, chop!
