Born in Munich in 1969, Disha grew up travelling the world, living for many years in India, Europe and the USA until '96, when she settled in the Byron Bay area on the East Coast of New South Wales, Australia.
She spent the last ten years exploring both her love for music and working with people, leading singing workshops and teenage-seminars worldwide.
Her life-long passion for music and devotional singing deepened in India where she studied the ancient art of Drupad with world-known vocalist Ustad Sayeed'uddin Dagar, from "the Dagar Brothers".
In '99 she started recording her own album, collaborating with Dutch-born musician and producer Bhakta who studied and performed extensively worldwide, including India - Japan - Europe and Australia.
Disha and Bhakta have created a truly unique album combining authentic ethnic-world recordings, trip-hop and alternative beats with the ancient poetry of Jalal'uddin Rumi, Rilke and her own beautiful lyrics.
Inspired by the contemporary vocal styles of Beth Orton, Sarah McLachlan, Lamb, Sade and Everything But the Girl, and enriched with her worldwide adventures, this album is an ongoing love-affair.
Innocent, sensual, contemporary and with a deep gratitude to existence, Disha sings her song on "Drowning in Grace".
This CD includes a CD Rom music video filmed in Byron Bay. Put it into your Mac or PC and check it out!
Disha and Bhakta have started their own label "My Master Music", devoted to creating music enriched with original samples from their world-travels, making music that whispers to the soul and touches you deeper and deeper the more you listen to it....
