Album Notes

Dishwater Psychics blend the pop-inflected songwriting traditions of the '60s and '70s with textured, indie-tinged guitars, dark lyrics and hummable melodies to create a crunchy mid-fi hybrid.

Their third album, "Candlewax Horizon," melds the spontaneity of analog home-recording with the range and resources of long-distance collaboration. Reference points like early Guided by Voices, Sebadoh, and Swearing at Motorists inform the songs, which deal with Midwestern decay and drunken isolation.

Recorded in Dayton, Ohio and Denver, Colorado, no musician played in the same room at the same time on "Candlewax Horizon," a method that produced some undeniably interesting results.

John - guitar, vocals
Chris Jones - bass
Dan Miller - backing guitar/vocals, keys
Rocky Twarek - drums, beers

Good job, boys. John gave me your CD and I've been listening to it in my car for the last coupla weeks. Nice guitar work, weird lyrics, kinda fuzzy. Three thumbs up!

A little odd, but I warmed up to it after a few listens. My fave is "Brilliant Demise." You guys should do whole albums of songs like that. How long have you people been at this music thing? You should play live shows!

Fantastic, Successful, Project Sure To Create A World-Wide Interest
author: Kenish
This CD is a tremendous example of what a band can do when they really want to. This CD is very inspirational to me as a local artist also. The sound is there, the mood is there, everything is there. This CD is very successful already. I was never exposed to this genre of talent until now. I wish loads of sales to this CD.
