Album Notes

DIVA and the DIXIES is a fun loving, good-time trio. They found a special chemistry and sound in a beautiful sunset moment when the trio was born. This moment also inspired the SUNSET song which was written by Nancy Emmerich the soprano who also does the vocal arrangements and has her Master's Degree in Music from the Juilliard School in New York. This is the last song on the album. Nancy's sister is Dixie Lu Sims the second soprano and a very talented, funny lyricist who wrote RED WINE MAKES OUR PANTS FALL DOWN which is the second song on the album. Dixie Jo Henson is the alto and the adopted sister who is often the source of inspiration for the group. Yes they are both named DIXIE. The trio sings mostly "oldies but goodies" some Andrew Sisters and some McGuire Sisters along with the originals by the goup. The instrumental arrangements are done by Mike Strickland who is a very talented pianist and composer who produced and recorded this album with the girls. The originals are fun and in a country rock stlye. This is their first album and just the beginning of much more to come. You can find the group at www.DIVAandtheDIXIES.com.
