To explain music in words is futile. How can you convey the heart and soul, the anguish and pain, the love and joy that flow from within an artist?
Birth starts off in a state of suspended animation. Chords ring, while a clarinet sings a modern-day blues. As the energy builds, you see the sunrise in your mind's eye, and you feel the warmth of a new day. Trains speed by, cars' taillights are in a row on the freeway, moving quickly as if in time-lapse photography. You are about to blast off.
Then comes 'Hiding.' The introduction of Divasonic's voice hints at what is to come: the ultra-modern house influence mixed with Joni Mitchell's soul; an innovator breaking out of the chains of her classical-music upbringing. Divasonic's music is heavy. Several voices at a time are lulling in and out of your ears like the sirens of The Odyssey.
Divasonic is liberation. She is feminism without the "ism." There is no preaching here, no putting down. It's all positivity. It shows the strength a woman can have when she reaches out on her own.
Diva's music is dramatic, maybe a bit melodramatic, but the message is clear. She's been there, done that and put it all into Birth. Divasonic is accepting the past, incorporating it, and defining her future. And the listener sees it all through her eyes.

----------------
Multi-instrumentalist/songwriter Lynda Arnold, a.k.a. Divasonic, takes you on her debut journey, 'Birth'. Cutting-edge ethereal electronica littered with rich synth and percussion textures, improvisational instrumentation and spiritual lyrical messages tell of evolution, hope, promise, love and fear. It is a story of coming out; of retaining that special essence of who we are as we travel our chosen path.
We all live through changes. The end of one is interrupted by the beginning of another.
Lynda Arnold wrote the lyrics, sang, played flute and
keyboards as well as programmed the beats, synths and
samples. Her classically trained musical background,
coupled with a depth of knowledge about digital audio
and music production allowed her to develop her own
unique sounds and arrangements.
The album was co-produced with Safar Bake, who recently completed his EMI/Virgin/Capitol Middle East album release under the name 'Spiritual Brothers' (July 2003). The album was re-released by EMI/Virgn Germany in 2004. Divasonic is a featured flute soloist on the track 'Moondance' and also played alto and c flute on other tracks on the album.
